Resources for Home
Kindergarten is one of the first opportunities for children to begin to understand that school is a place for learning, working and growing. The kindergarten classroom is a language-rich experience for all. Students are introduced to basic reading skills and vocabulary development through shared reading experiences, rhymes, poems, and children’s literature. Skills including auditory and visual discrimination, left to right orientation, sight and whole word recognition, and letters and sound relationships are taught using high quality books for Kindergarten readers. In order to continue to nurture these developments in your child, I have provided some resources to continue to use at home.
